We meet all the prerequisites
Finance partner confirmed. Unsolicited bid submitted.
At the core of our vision for the stadium is a community hub, designed to host Tasmania’s sporting and entertainment events. Our goal is to create a space where sports, culture, business, and entertainment intersect, fostering an inclusive and shared environment for all Tasmanians. Mac 2.0 Stadium Consortium has conducted a decade of thorough research and data analysis to ensure informed and considered decisions that impact not only the Stadium but also the Tasmanian community.
A key decision was to partner with Capella Capital, an award-winning infrastructure developer and financier, to secure funding and oversee the development of plans for Mac Point 2.0. This collaboration is based on a public-private partnership (PPP), meaning Capella is responsible for raising funds for the stadium and assisting in its development and operations.
Slattery Quantity Surveyors have confirmed the cost of our stadium including a sum for contingency.
AFL Stadium requirements
The design of our stadium not only safeguards Tasmania's historic landmarks like the revered Cenotaph but will also protect its heritage including the Goods Shed, ANZAC day Tributes and the cherished annual Hobart Regatta.
We have ensured that the Mac Point 2.0 complies with the AFL regulations in design, location and timing including the stipulation for 23,000 seats and a retractable roof.
We will continue to work alongside the AFL to ensure we meet and surpass the requirements necessary for building a stadium.
MAC 2.0’s Stadium is located at the original Macquarie Point site as established by the Placenames Act 2020.
